On paper this project seems very straight forward, that’s what my first impression of the brief was that everything will go smoothly, I was eager to take part in the first progressive group project handed to us because of the amount of ideas that be conjured up from several group members. I was allocated in the W9, Maida vale group, this was the first time I'd heard of Maida vale and didn't know what to expect from the contents of the area. Luckily for me I was in a group where everyone’s voice was heard and every idea considered this is why I feel the development of the game was quite smooth. First we all decided to do some initial research of the area; everyone’s research was quite similar each person with a bit more information on what attracts them to the area, I’ve always liked green areas and especially parks with the way spaced is used inside within them. I decided to take the responsibility of the very large local park, the Paddington Recreational Ground, I felt like I dealt with the responsibility of researching and producing questions in this area for the group quite well, considering this was one of the main attractions to the Maida Vale area as the rest of the group did with there locations. I gathered nearly all of the park and Maida vale using the internet, and with minimal use of books, that was a mistake on my behalf the information on the internet was in detail enough and I feel if I used the local library in Maida vale I would have been a lot more successful in getting the best out of the park therefore helping the game. To our misfortune the Maida Vale area was very residential, and not to say the area was bad but very hard to work with in conjunction to the set brief, so we just drained the main attractions of the area to produce more questions. I wanted to try and educate the people who played the game with questions that were not only tricky but fun at the same time. So in the park we came up with a question to lead them to an area where they could appreciate the way the space was used and the visual beauty of it all. I don’t think I really educated the gamers enough on the park, and to better the game I should have led them to an area with plaques of some sort that game a short brief history of the area, this is one thing I think I didn’t concentrate enough on, I was distracted by making the game fun because of the dull nature of the Maida vale area.
Overall I feel with what we were given in Maida Vale we delivered a game that was fun and fulfilled the brief at the same time, as a group we had criticised each other but constructive criticism at that so I feel as group we supported each other and worked with good drive.
